Position Overview 

The Pre-Sales Solution Architect position has responsibility for generating customer specific solution quotes to address business problems. Working closely with Sales team, Product Management, the Delivery organisation and with their Technical Sales Leader peers the candidate will generate solutions, respond to requests for quotes and estimates and provide input into professional services engagements.  The successful candidate is experienced in Telecommunication Software who communicates clearly in English and knows how to drive performance, with a passion for the business and desire to deliver excellence.

The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of the OSS domain with specific focus on Assurance, Monitoring and IP Network Management, a thorough understanding of a broad range of telecommunications technologies, as well as good understanding of software development and system integration patterns.

The applicant needs to have experience in capturing the scope of software solutions that follow a customized off the shelf product pattern.

They will have extensive experience working directly with Telco customers, understanding their requirements around OSS software and possess the ability to translate those requirements software solutions across the Blue Planet Portfolio or similar applications.

• Work with the client's IT, Network Operations, Planning and Engineering teams to understand existing system and to define scope of work for the deployment and upgrade of our existing deployments.
• Assist in the creation of technical design specifications to align with client needs as well as contribute other project documentation to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of solutions
• Work closely with the Blue Planet Technical Sales Leaders to ensure alignment between customer expectations and solution being developed throughout the quote life-cycle.
• Work independently and in a hands-on manner on the creation of proposals.
• Participate in remote workshops and other activities to ensure client teams are well-informed and engaged and quotes are delivered to customer satisfaction.

Key skills:

• Language Skills – Ability to speak and write in English to technical and contract level in support of building Statements of Work (SOW). It is beneficial to also speak additional languages.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the telecoms OSS domain
• Understanding of Telecom Network design and architectures. Including broad end to end view across OSS and BSS technologies and ecosystems including associated technologies such as service assurance/analytics, SDN/NFV and cloud infrastructure, service orchestration & OSS automation, mediation, billing & charging, IoT and service exposure. 
• Deep understanding of Performance, Fault and Network Device Management
• Understanding of the Telco OSS ecosystem and ideally knowledge of two or more of the following Assurance Systems – IBM Netcool, Broadcom, Cisco Net Brain, Juniper Paragon, Solar Winds, NetCracker Fault management, Ericsson Assurance Suite.
• Network configuration processes from a functional and technical perspective.
• Minimum of 2 years in the role of hands-on Solution Architecture in the telco OSS and/or BSS areas.
