Role Overview
As Head of Engineering – Payments, you will lead the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of our payments platform. You'll oversee a team of engineers and technical leads responsible for building scalable, secure, and resilient payment systems that process thousands of transactions daily across multiple markets.
You'll partner closely with Product, Operations, and Compliance to ensure our payments stack supports rapid growth, innovation, and best-in-class reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the technical strategy for payments architecture and infrastructure.
Lead engineering teams in developing high-availability, low-latency payment services.
Oversee integrations with acquirers, PSPs, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods.
Collaborate with Product to align technical priorities with business objectives.
Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, PSD2, and global data-protection standards.
Implement best practices in reliability, observability, CI/CD, and cloud scalability.
Mentor and grow technical leaders and senior engineers across LATAM.
Qualifications
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ in leadership roles.
Proven track record building and scaling payment or fintech platforms.
Strong expertise in backend development , Java, Go) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Deep understanding of payment orchestration, tokenization, 3DS, and settlement.
Experience leading distributed teams and managing complex integrations.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field.
