and more: About the role We’re looking for an experienced Back-end Software Engineer who can balance mission-critical reliability with rapid innovation. You will shape and implement cutting-edge features that push our platform forward, while helping to maintain and improve our real-time multimedia infrastructure. Working closely with our cofounder, you’ll design and build architectures that ensure seamless scalability and low-latency performance, while regularly delivering new functionality that delights our users. Your work will directly enhance both the technical backbone and the feature set of our application, ensuring a consistently top-tier user experience.
About you
Relentlessly reliable: You’re the type who sees rock-solid uptime and fault-tolerance not as lofty goals, but as core values that enable product innovation. System-level thinker: Complex architectures, concurrency, and large data flows don’t intimidate you; you are eager to craft elegant, scalable solutions. Media & performance enthusiast: Real-time streaming challenges you to push boundaries. You find satisfaction in fine-tuning performance until every millisecond counts.
DevOps mindset: You approach infrastructure as a critical part of the creative process, streamlining deployments and operations so that new features roll out smoothly and confidently. Pragmatically iterative: You strike the balance between thoughtful design and rapid delivery, ensuring that iteration doesn't compromise quality - but fuels it. Your Skills Python & Back-End strength: Mastery in Python and frameworks like FastAPI, along with deep expertise in concurrency and async programming. Media handling: Experienced in real-time media streams, codecs, and addressing audio/video edge cases.
This is a must for this role. Scalable Infrastructure: Proven experience designing robust, fault-tolerant systems that handle high traffic loads. Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring for smooth rollouts and dependable uptime. What you’ll do Architect & build: Collaborate with the Tech Lead to design scalable, fault tolerant services - and then implement both back-end and front-end features.
Innovate & enhance: Create new features that leverage real-time media while maintaining rock-solid reliability. Optimize performance: Continuously refine our stack to minimize latency, boost throughput, and ensure top-notch user experiences. Support the team: Contribute to shaping our technical roadmap, influencing both infrastructural decisions and product direction. Bonus Points Experience with AWS and Azure.
You used non-relational databases in the pastFamiliarity with streaming protocols, WebRTC, or low-level networking. Strong production debugging and performance tuning skills. Job Type: Full-time
