DevOps Engineer, Networking

In a SaaS enterprise like Avature, a robust infrastructure is key to success. That’s why the cloud engineers who manage our network are fully immersed in the system and their work has a direct impact on the service we deliver. As a part of the Networking team, you’ll work with a wide range of technologies to keep our platform services up and running, maximizing for responsiveness and reliability. You will collaborate with specialists from several other teams, and have varied opportunities to learn and grow in our Engineering area.
Your challenges and objectives
- Gain a profound knowledge of the entire Avature infrastructure and processes.
- Have ownership of the network, actively working on improving the system.
- Propose and implement enhancements to the way we work, looking for ways to improve processes.

Your day-to-day activities
- Participate in projects to improve our networking infrastructure.
- Collaborate in network design definitions.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents.
- Monitor, analyze, and solve cloud issues.
- Manage relationships with providers.
- Automate recurring tasks and minimize common incidents.

About you
- Attentive, to solve unexpected issues.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of cloud virtualization environments (AWS, OpenStack).
- Organized and able to work autonomously.
- Experience in automation, configuration management (e.g. Puppet), monitoring, Python, Bash, and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of firewall configuration is a plus.
- Linux administration knowledge is valued.
- Cisco or Juniper certifications are a plus.
- Understanding of monitoring tools (Nagios and SNMP protocol) is desired.
