We are looking for a **Staff Engineer** with deep expertise in **Kubernetes (K8s) and AWS Cloud architecture** to lead and optimize our cloud-native infrastructure. You will play a key role in scaling, securing, and enhancing the performance of our travel platform. This hybrid role is based in Córdoba, Argentina, requiring in-office presence twice a week. Fluency in English and the ability to work in a global team environment are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Cloud Architecture & Engineering**
- Design and maintain **highly available, scalable, and secure** Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS).
- Architect **multi-cluster, hybrid, and multi-region Kubernetes deployments**, ensuring best practices in networking, security, and observability.
- Develop **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** using **Terraform** to automate cloud and Kubernetes resource provisioning.
- Design and optimize **microservices architecture** using Kubernetes and API gateways.
- Enhance AWS cloud infrastructure by optimizing services for **cost, security, and performance**.

**Cloud & DevOps Strategy**
- Manage and optimize AWS services, including **EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudFront, and WAF**.
- Develop and enforce **CI/CD pipelines** (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) for streamlined deployments.
- Define and enforce **Kubernetes security policies, network policies, and IAM roles** for secure workloads.
- Participate in an **on-call rotation once a week per month using PagerDuty** to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.

**Security, Compliance & Performance Optimization**
- Deploy and maintain **logging and monitoring solutions** (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, AWS CloudWatch, Instana).
- Optimize **Kubernetes cluster performance**, including **node autoscaling** (Karpenter, Cluster Autoscaler) and cost governance.
- Ensure compliance with **industry security standards** (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, PCI-DSS) and support security audits and incident response.

**Collaboration & Development Team Support**
- Support developers in troubleshooting **production issues** and optimizing cloud environments.
- Promote **DevOps culture and automation** to improve engineering efficiency and infrastructure reliability.
- Partner with teams to implement **observability, telemetry, and operational best practices**.
- Act as a **bridge between DevOps and development teams**, helping developers learn and adopt Kubernetes, Helm charts, and other cloud-native tools.

**Leadership & Documentation**
- Act as a **technical leader and mentor**, sharing expertise in Kubernetes, AWS cloud architecture, and DevOps automation.
- Define and document **cloud architecture, Kubernetes policies, and automation frameworks**.
- Participate in **architecture reviews, incident response, and post-mortems** to drive continuous improvement.

**Qualifications & Experience**

**Required**:

- 10+ years of experience in **software engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure**.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with **Kubernetes (EKS)**.
- Expertise in **AWS cloud architecture**, networking, security, and cost optimization.
- Experience with **Infrastructure as Code** tools (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize).
- Strong proficiency in scripting and automation (**Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, etc.**).
- Hands-on experience with **CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and DevSecOps best practices**.
- Familiarity with **SRE principles, monitoring, and incident response frameworks**.
- Fluent in **English** (spoken and written) - ability to collaborate with global teams.
- Ability to work **on-site in Córdoba, Argentina, between 1 or 2 days per week**.

**Preferred**:

- **Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD, CKS) or AWS (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Professional) certifications**.
- Experience with **Kafka, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native databases**.
- Background in **security & compliance** (ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS, NIST 800-53).
- Knowledge of **container security** tools (Aqua, Falco, Trivy, Prisma Cloud, etc.).
- Familiarity with **AI/ML in AWS** (SageMaker, AWS AI/ML Services) is a plus.
- ** Networking and VPN experience is a plus**.
