The Role

We are seeking a Semi/Senior Full-Stack Machine Learning Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to join our collaborative Machine Learning Scrum Team at Proofpoint. This role is integral to developing and scaling end-to-end ML solutions, encompassing ETL processes, model development, and MLOps. As part of this team, you will play a key role in designing and optimizing ML workflows, ensuring seamless integration of models into production environments.

What You Bring to the Team

As an integral team member, you will contribute to the architectural design of scalable solutions and play a key role in building and maintaining training pipelines an infastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient and agile data flows for our machine learning models. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, and ETL specialists, working together to operationalize ML models at scale.

We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and a desire to work across the entire ML pipeline. While general familiarity with adversarial machine learning and its challenges is a plus, your primary focus will be deploying, maintaining, and optimizing ML systems in production environments.

Your contributions will enhance our ability to detect and prevent security threats, reinforcing Proofpoint’s mission of protecting organizations from cyber risks.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models into production.-
- Optimize ML workflows by automating model training, evaluation, and deployment using MLOps best practices.- Conduct code reviews, debug pipeline issues, and ensure model performance is continuously monitored and improved.- Utilize AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, SageMaker) to build cloud-based ML solutions.- Promote best practices within the team, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable model deployments.- Knowledge in Azure is a plus

Desired Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark, with hands-on experience in machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with large language models such as BERT, GPT, or similar, as well as common ML algorithms.
- Strong SQL and data engineering skills, particularly in designing scalable ETL pipelines.
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, and SageMaker for building and deploying ML solutions.
- Knowledge of MLOps best practices, including CI/CD for ML models, model versioning, and monitoring.
- Basic understanding of adversarial machine learning concepts and model robustness strategies is a plus.
