**Data Governance Analyst**

This position will focus on ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data literacy, quality, standards, policies, and ethics to meet overall business needs. Flexiti’s Data Governance Analyst will assist the data team with the implementation of the data governance program, policy, standards, guidelines, and processes. Your duties are to promote best practices for keeping data, develop tools and methods for a business to oversee its data, and provide management with recommendations regarding information security, integrity, access, and quality.

**What you will be doing**:

- Participate in data governance policy creation, management, and analyzing potential impacts of policy choices under consideration.
- Perform data profiling and database structure research to understand relevant data elements along with their definitions and use.
- Document and maintain data standards, partnering with functional and business data owners to map existing data structures, usage, and common definitions.
- Design, build, and execute efficient and accurate control structures to assess data quality and compliance to data governance policy.
- Develop control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
- Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
- Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, and provide reports.
- Serve as a liaison between business and IT to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, well understood, and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.

**What you should have**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience of applied data governance.
- Experience in data analysis including technical competency in SQL.
- Experience with industry leading data quality and data protection management practices.
- Experience working with any Data Governance tool (Alation preferable).
- Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills and ability to professionally interact with variety of stakeholders.
- Strong ability to plan work activities, manage competing priorities, identifying critical tasks, organize and prioritize work activities to meet deadlines and see projects through to completion.
