**Job Purpose/Overview**

Lead shift teams of associates and contractors to operate the factory. The role involves not only the functional technical expertise required by the technologies but, fundamentally, the leadership of the people in charge.
The work team that reports to this role can include from one to no more than two shift teams according to the production scheme; The scope of the role is identical in all factories and independent of their factory size and/or technology as well as its level of automation of the production areas involved.
To manage shift resources to deliver the shifts production and service targets, whilst meeting and improving quality, safety, cost and NQC performance and deliver People KPIs.
To drive engagement in the team and be role modelling for Safety, Quality and Efficiency mindsets and behaviors. The Shift Leader will facilitate teams in his/her area of responsibility and conduct or coordinate the necessary training for both the individual associates and the team.

Accountable for his operating team in the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner within the product design specifications. Lead the engagement, development and support of a team. Support the hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of Operations associates following self-managed, team-working principles with a low degree of guidance from the Operations Manager. Gallup Engagement surveys will be used to determine individual effectiveness in this area. Evaluate associate performance and develop, in conjunction with associate's plans, to challenge their potential. Ensuring compliance to all HSE (Hygiene, safety and environment) standards and procedures, and driving the behavioral based safety system with his/her team. Ensuring full compliance to the HACCP plan and confirmation of product conformance to quality prior to release. Accountable for the management of quality and hygiene standards on the team Managing the team of associates and contractors to deliver maximum productivity on the team Accountable for delivering the production according to the agreed schedule, as measured by ATS. Support and role model the FMOS daily meeting process to identify, fix and eliminate non conformances Ensure that open communications are established and that opportunities to broaden the scope and responsibility of Operations teams/associates are undertaken.

1. Education & Professional Qualification
- Secondary Technical School
2. Knowledge/Experience
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Ideally 5 years’ experience in a Production Environment.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Ability to convey communications clearly and concisely.
- Understanding of major functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Demonstrated experience working in Quality
- Demonstrated experience working in safety.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a food production environment
- Ability to work any shift as needed
- Ability to tolerate an ambiguous environment.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of HACCP concepts
- Experience in plant sanitation practices and procedures
- Experience as Supervisor and/or Coordinator roles, developing and engaging direct reports
