**Who we are and what we do**

Shaw and Partners is a software development provider for high-profile startups with approximately 25 remote staff. We are also incubating two startups. Christopher Shaw, the founder and CEO, would be your manager.

**Engineering at Shaw and Partners**

Our clients have funded U.S. startups in LA and NY, so depending on your location, you may need to participate in a late call, but you can set your own schedule.

We’re all here to serve each other. Each team is held in high regard, resulting in camaraderie and support. We also enjoy the freedom to test new technologies using POCs at appropriate intervals. This requires a balanced healthy mindset supported from the top.

We are looking for full-stack developers and accept developers with a stronger focus on either front-end or back-end.

**Required**
- English (Fluent in reading and writing | Intermediate/Advanced speaking)
- Experience with testing frameworks, building backend APIs, and user-centric frontend
- Solid Computer Science fundamentals knowledge (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, etc.)
- Preferably a B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Senior
- 5+ years in digital product development on a team of engineers, ideally using NodeJS
- 5+ years of SQL and/or NoSQL

Mid-Level
- 3+ years in digital product development on a team of engineers, ideally using NodeJS
- 3+ years of SQL and/or NoSQL

Junior
- 1+ years in digital product development on a team of engineers, ideally using NodeJS
- 1+ years of SQL and/or NoSQL

**Differentials**
- Development experience in Go, Elixir
- Elasticsearch, microservices architecture, GraphQL, experience
- Strong experience and interest in working with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services,

Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with React, Next, and Responsive Web Design, state management patterns and solutions (e.g., Redux) ES2015+, HTML5 APIs and CSS3
- Experience with Web Standards (HTML5, CSS3) Semantic HTML, CSS preprocessors
- Working experience in Continuous Integration/Deployment
- Experience working independently or in remote teams
- Experience working in open source communities or contributions to any open source project

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Identify and track bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and internal standards
- Support the QA team with test automation when required
- Collaborate with a distributed team
- Coders who focus on the back-end or front-end will be supported with the expectation of evolving to working full-stack

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

**Salary**: $250,000.00 - $750,000.00 per month
