Cloud Architect

**Remitee**, a rapidly expanding fintech company specializing in international payments, is seeking a **Cloud Architect with Kubernetes and Azure Expertise.**

As the Cloud Architect, you will enhance and optimize the existing cloud infrastructure with a focus on Kubernetes (AKS) and Azure services. Collaborate with various roles, including infrastructure, database administration, cybersecurity, network security, software development, and software architecture teams, to ensure the scalability, resilience, and security of critical services in a multi-region, active-active environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Kubernetes Management and Optimization**:

- Manage and optimize existing **Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)** clusters in production.
- Oversee and improve multi-region, active-active deployments to ensure high availability and low latency.
- Maintain network configurations, load balancing, and resource policies in Kubernetes.

**Azure Multi-Region Infrastructure**:

- Collaborate with infrastructure and database administration teams to integrate and optimize services like **Azure SQL**, **Azure Service Bus**, and **Azure Storage**.
- Support and enhance inter-region synchronization of data and distributed workflows.

**Collaboration with Development and Software Architecture Teams**:

- Collaborate with the software architecture team to design scalable and resilient cloud-based solutions.

**Automation and DevOps**:

- Maintain and optimize established CI/CD pipelines represented in **Azure DevOps**.
- Ensure smooth deployment and automation processes for Kubernetes and other resources.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to align deployment processes with business objectives.

**Monitoring and Observability**:

- Configure and maintain monitoring tools such as **Azure Monitor**, **Application Insights**, **Log Analytics**, and **Kibana**.
- Design advanced dashboards in **Grafana** to provide real-time visibility into infrastructure performance.
- Implement proactive alert systems for critical events and improve system observability.

**Collaboration with Security and Network Roles**:

- Work closely with cybersecurity and network security roles to implement proposed changes and ensure infrastructure security.
- Participate in regular security reviews, implement audit recommendations, and address potential vulnerabilities.

**Resilience and Disaster Recovery**:

- Design and implement disaster recovery strategies in a multi-region environment.
- Ensure services comply with global standards for data protection and high availability.

**Technical Requirements**:
**Kubernetes Expertise**:

- Extensive experience managing Kubernetes environments, preferably on AKS.
- Strong understanding of multi-region, active-active deployments.

**Azure Specialization**:

- Advanced knowledge of **Azure SQL**, including multi-region replication.
- Proficiency in **Azure Service Bus** for distributed workflows.

**Monitoring and Diagnostics**:

- Hands-on experience with **Kibana**, **Azure Monitor**, **Log Analytics**, and **Application Insights**.
- Familiarity with integrating advanced monitoring tools like **Prometheus** and **Grafana**.

**Automation and DevOps**:

- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines in **Azure DevOps**.

**Collaboration Skills**:

- Proven ability to work effectively across teams, including development, software architecture, infrastructure, and security.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including network policies and disaster recovery.
