PayRetailers is a payment gateway designed to handle mass online payments to the Latin American market.

The company combines local markets expertise with payment technology enabling global merchants to successfully expand their business into high growth, emerging markets while eliminating the many operational complexities of managing cross-border payments. Our strategy has created a differentiated model in the payments landscape.

The position is a hands-on Data Engineer role, with a primary focus on Data lifecycle control: collection, transport, maintenance/curation and access to PayRetailers corporate data assets.

**Job duties and Responsibilities**:

- Creation and maintenance of ETL and ELT processes, ensuring their performance, quality, reliability, scalability and reusability.
- Governance of the different data pipelines and data services hosted in cloud solutions.
- Participate in troubleshooting and managing data related incidents.
- Implement best practices in data integration, data security, performance and data management.
- Gives input to management on task duration estimates, technical information, and issue resolution.
- Creation and managing of dashboards, metrics and operational KPIs for monitoring data quality and performance of data-linked processes

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- 4+ years of overall technology experience that includes at least 3+ years of hands-on software development, data engineering, and systems architecture.
- 2+ years in cloud data engineering experience in Azure.
- Degree in Computer science, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Experience with data modeling
- Strong SQL proficiency (experience with NoSQL - advantage).
- Experienced with Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
- Excellent communication, organization, time management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design and change proposals.

**Will be appreciated**:

- Experience in the online payment sector and payment gateways.
- Experience in Azure cloud services (Azure Certification is a plus)
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with Data Lake Infrastructure / Data Warehousing
