**Responsibilities**:

- Design test plans for new and existing features so that the rest of the team can know beforehand how a feature is going to be tested. This will include analyze and identify the implications and impact of any product change.
- Define test strategies that better fits the product.
- Evaluate along with your team which features are worth automating.
- Create, execute, and maintain test scenarios, test cases and test data sets to be used in software testing for manual and automated testing.
- Document software defects and report it to software developers.
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
- Produce testing results reports with summary findings for project stakeholders.
- Work with engineering teams to identify, triage and isolate defects and issues in all environments and retesting.
- Participate in team ceremonies like daily standups, planning meetings, reviews, and retrospective meetings
- Report daily to its supervisor the progress in the execution of tasks identifying risks and possible mitigations to the plan.
- Collaborate with engineering team and product managers on breaking down product specification into engineering requirements identifying acceptance criteria.
- Perform and provide estimates for QA activities
- Monitor periodically automated execution of test cases identifying product defects and/or necessary maintenance.
- Keep up with the industry to continually improve the QA process.
- Collaborate in the process of hiring new team members through technical interviews.
- Mentor and coach junior team members on how to excel as a QA Engineer.
- Coordinate work with contractors when required.

**Tech Skills**:

- Several years of demonstrated software engineering experience as QA engineer with excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills (5+ years)
- Built test strategies, test plans and test cases based on requirements and know how to trace them back to the latter.
- Experience working with agile methodologies like Scrum and/or Kanban.
- Good communication and organization skills
- Experience working with distributed teams

**Nice to have**:

- Experience coordinating other QA engineers
- Experience validating data consistency in software using relational and non-relational/NoSQL databases
