**About the job**:
BBVA is looking for a **GLOBAL BANKER METALS & MINING HEAD**for Americas territory, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The role main tasks are:
**Strategic Leadership & Business Development**
- Lead the development and execution of the bank’s metals and mining sector strategy for Latin America in coordination with the Global sector head and the coverage team in different countries.
- Expand the client portfolio by leveraging existing relationships with major mining companies and onboarding new relationships that feet into the strategy.
- Provide deep knowledge on market trends, multilateral investment and government entities.
- Identify and originate high-value advisory and financing transactions (M&A, debt & equity capital markets, structured finance, sustainability-linked instruments).
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to align strategy with the bank’s broader objectives in corporate banking, investment banking, and ESG advisory.

**Client Relationship Management**
- Serve as the key relationship expert for top-tier mining and metals companies with an interest in our Latam footprint
- Provide C-level advisory on industry trends, regulatory frameworks, capital structuring, and sustainability strategies.
- Develop long-term partnerships and enhance the bank’s reputation as a trusted advisor in the sector.

**Sector Expertise & Advisory Services**
- Stay ahead of market trends, commodity price cycles, and supply chain dynamics affecting the mining industry.
- Lead sectoral research, risk assessments, and investment opportunity analyses for key clients.
- Advise clients on energy transition strategies and responsible mining practices to align with global ESG standards.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including investment banking, risk, legal, and compliance and sustainable finance solutions.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and sector expertise within the bank’s mining division across the region.
- Represent the bank at industry conferences, investor forums, and policy discussions to strengthen thought leadership in the mining sector.

Role requirements:

- Experience of at least 15/20 years building relationships with companies from the metal & mining industry.
- Investment banking experience in mining related deals/projects: DCM, structured/ECA/multilateral financing, M&A, etc.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Speaking fluent English and Spanish is mandatory.Availability for travelling frequently.**Skills**:
