Lead Blockchain Engineer

Position Summary: As a member of the Advanced Technologies Group the Lead Blockchain Engineer is responsible for participating in the design and implementation of Inmar’s proprietary blockchain solutions by working with internal technical and business partners to gather requirements, prototype, architect, implement/update solutions, build and execute test plans, perform quality reviews, manage operations, and triage and fix operational issues. A Lead Blockchain Engineer must be able to adjust to constant business change, such as new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies, while communicating collaboratively at the highest technical levels with development teams, outside vendors and across any level of the business team. Primary Accountabilities: Works on complex tasks in design, integration, and implementation of blockchain platform components Designs and supervises the implementation of platform CI/CD pipeline. Acquires increased technical skills and knowledge of specific business areas. Works as a project team leader, or independently on small projects. Participates in project planning processes. Creates and shares development estimates and operational requirements to enable accurate planning with realistic timelines. May serve as a liaison between client partners, Inmar and vendors in coordination with project managers to provide technical solutions that address user needs. Assesses client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes). Writes and communicates business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of client solutions. Analyzes client operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to uncover opportunities for improvements. Participates with the architects and technical leadership on blockchain strategy work. Creates technical design specifications. Develops/builds IT solutions to meet business requirements. Supervises Installing and configuring solutions. Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework. Translates business and technical requirements into test cases, test scenarios and scripts. Evaluates existing applications and platforms and provides recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications. May perform automated/load tests and address any issues. Supervises and/or performs ongoing routine application maintenance tasks. Establishes requirements, methods and procedures for routine maintenance. Designs and/or implements reusable components. Acts as the mentor for other Engineers. Assists with the identification, creation, and maintenance of test data. Designs and develops interface stubs and simulators, as needed. Codes and documents custom test automation frameworks. Adheres to standards and procedures. Reviews modules for quality assurance. Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results. Assists in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems. Builds automated deployments using configuration management technology Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to the production environment. Documents and completes knowledge transfer to production support. Works with Release Management to ensure modules are production ready. Validates deployments. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, or a Bachelor of Arts Degree in a related technical field 4-6 years related work experience as an Engineer or similar role in Blockchain and/or Cryptocurrency domain Or any equivalent combination of experience and training/certification in platform maintenance and development Experience as a technical team lead (management experience a plus) Solid theoretical and practical understanding of blockchain, distributed applications, distributed consensus, cryptography, smart contracts, and related topics Experience with complex and distributed systems over a range of technologies Ability to adapt to various tools, technologies, and languages Strong understanding of Information Security Ability to communicate highly complex and technical information to non-technical stakeholders Specific Technical Skills Needed: Experience with the following technologies required: Development experience with specific blockchain technologies (e.g. Hyperledger, Ethereum, Cardano) Development experience with Smart Contracts on any blockchain platform (Solidity, Plutus, Rust, etc.) Networking knowledge Security knowledge Experience with one or more of the following a plus: DApps on any blockchain platform Containers and container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, GKS, Anthos) Configuration Management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt) Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.) Cloud technol
