**YOUR POSITION WITH TNC**:
The Gran Chaco Lead will be responsible for the oversight of the Gran Chaco Conservation Program of TNC in Argentina and Paraguay. He/She will be in charge of ensuring that planned activities are fullfilled at the right time and within budget by designated staff and hired consultants, with complete realization of studies and evaluations, workshops and field days, fairs and training events. Some of the projects under his/her sphere of influence include the Regional Program for Adaptation based on Ecosystems for Regenerative Livestock and Agriculture (EbA-R2A) financed by the IKI (International Climate Initiative), the Collaboration with Nestlé on Regenerative Agriculture in the Gran Chaco, the Gran Chaco as a Foodscape project, the Collaboration with Bunge Latin America, the Conservation and Markets Initiative (CMI project) and any other initiative receiving funding support from public or private sources. He/She will also be responsible for engaging with partner organizations performing activities in the Gran Chaco, the corporate sector with vested interest in the trading of commodities originated in the region, producers and producer groups, extension agencies, the public sector, and the academia. Other activities in which he/she will also participate comprise the elaboration of funding proposals for the continuation of ongoing projects and the initiation of new ones, and the dissemination of marketing and outreach material elaborated as a result of project implementation.The Gran Chaco Lead will use the TNC Code of Conduct and Competencies as a baseline to conduct his/her actions and be an example to others.The Gran Chaco Lead will be based in Argentina, preferably in a city/town located in the Gran Chaco region. Work will be under the home-office modality. **This is a 1-year fixed-term contract. With the possibility of renewal.**

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
The Gran Chaco Lead’s primary function is to foster coordination across a portfolio of individual yet synergistic projects, building an effective Chaco team with a holistic view of the conservation challenges and opportunities and a clear vision and articulation of TNC’s integrated interventions to maximize conservation results and scaling in the region. S/he will be responsible to supervise and coordinate multiple technical and management activities in Argentina and Paraguay framed within the above mentioned projects, and others that may begin in the future. He/She will be responsible of leading the planning of meetings and workshops, providing technical support, preparing reports, and reviewing deliverables from external services to advance the implementation of Gran Chaco portfolio. He/She will lead the relationships with partners and different stakeholders, both public and private in the Gran Chaco region. He/She will manage strategic communications for internal and external audiences, respond to donor inquiries, and maintain program records. Job duties will also include frequent travel and fieldwork (meetings, training, field trips, visits to local producers and workshops). This position will also be part of an informal network of peers in similar roles in Patagonia (Argentina and Chile),Pará (Brazilian Amazon) and Araguaia (Brazilian Cerrado) among other “Iconic Places” in Latin America, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE**:

- Lead TNC activities in the Gran Chaco of Argentina and Paraguay.
- Develop the vision for the Gran Chaco across both countries (Argentina and Paraguay), considering aspects of protection, regenerative provision of products, domestic and international market leverage, and climate-related initiatives in both freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems.
