We are looking for a **Data Engineer (Analytics) **to join the team at Modus Create.

**About You**

**Experience Level: Senior**

As our first **Analytics Engineer**, you will build a modern analytics platform that will be the foundation of the Modus Create Product Studio decision-making ability. The systems you help create and the problems you help solve will be pivotal to the long term strategy and success of our team. The data gathered and analyzed as part of this role will have an impact on all operations of the team including growth, product, and capacity planning.

The Analytics Engineer will be implementing critical data pipelines, and innovating and improving infrastructure to support these pipelines while advancing best practices in privacy and data and information security.

You love building great solutions. Your work could be supporting new feature development, migrating existing features, or creating new database architectures and ETL processes. You'll have a primary focus on handling Big Data and know best programming practices.

You have a good understanding of data warehouse modeling. You enjoy supporting the team with data testing, as well as working to ensure deployment and integration tasks are completed successfully. You are able to come up with initiatives to continuously improve report performance and to recommend changes in project design concepts to improve efficiency. You regularly contribute to requirement gathering sessions.

**The Role**

The Product Studio team needs to build their data practice from the ground up. That said, here are some things you'll probably do:

- Build data systems and pipelines using SaaS tools
- Analyze existing data sources, structures, schemas, and quality issues in that data
- Build out an associated reporting and notification strategy to help drive prioritization of work
- Collaborate with product engineering to build out in product analytics and help drive the future of our products
- Onboard new data sources and enrich our existing data to deliver more value to our customers

**Requirements**:

- Expert at SQL and solid in Python
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (like PostgreSQL) and data warehouses (like AWS Redshift and Snowflake)
- Familiar with data modeling and data governance concepts
- Familiarity with industry tools like dbt, Stitch, Census, Segment, etc
- Statistics knowledge, analytical skills, and an understanding of big data technologies
- Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master's is a plus or seven years' equivalent experience
- You love learning and understand that software is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet. You are self-driven, self-learner willing to share knowledge and participate actively in your community.
Having overlap with your team is critical when working in a global remote team. Modus requires all team members to overlap with EST hours daily. In addition, reliable high speed internet is a must.
