The Commercial Management team is looking for a Commercial Analyst that will support Americas region.
The position will be part of the Americas Deal Desk within the global Finance organization supporting Regional Commercial Managers.

**SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES**
This role will support the Americas Business Operations by:
- Providing pricing details for product and services
- Coordinating with Global Product Line Managers (PLM) to ensure updated costing and pricing are made available.
- Obtaining approvals from concerned stakeholders as per internal governance/process.
- Ensuring price lists are updated in the system to enable repeat ordering.
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Aid the Americas Commercial team in meeting/exceeding their budget targets whilst maintaining integrity of the financial information.
- Gain understanding of existing price lists of customers across the Americas and ensure they are updated.
- Prepare P&Ls and outline approval requirements from a financial standpoint
- Understand, articulate and guide team re processes around the internal deal governance document.
- Ensure all pre-vetting required by Ciena governance is complete and documented.
- Update bid data at regular intervals.
- Prepare a consistent template for Regional Commercial Managers to fill so that a standardized format is submitted for approval.
- Align with the regional commercial teams to ensure that any special discounts are accurately reflected in the business case.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- 2+ years of progressive experience in the IT industry.
- 2+ years commercial/business operations experience
- Accounting designation highly regarded
- Understanding of pricing and its complexities
- Ability to work in matrix organization

- Commercially astute
- Outstanding operational skills
- Must display high ethical values
- Must be fluent in English
- Good communication skills, creativity and high energy.
- Must have excellent written and presentation skills proven at all levels inside and outside of the company.
- Must also have strong interpersonal, analytical, negotiations and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally desirable.
