Deal Review Analyst

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
EDG Operations provides operational support across the CIB covering eight key product areas including FX, OTC Derivatives, Collateral Principal, 3rd Party Derivatives, Cleared Derivatives, Agency Collateral, Billing and CASS with ~1,900 employees.

EDG Operations supports a global and diverse client base. Primary functions performed: affirmation, settlement, client money daily segregation, credit event management, client valuations, regulatory reporting, deal review and tax reporting. Facilitate transaction execution via a ‘best in class’ systematic control framework, providing integration between risk systems (Athena, GPS, Kapital, Pyramid) and vendor platforms (DTCC/ TIW/ Markitwire / Thunderhead).
- Manage a portfolio of 2.5M live trades
- Monthly settlement of 600,000 payments (100% increase vs. 300,000 in 2010)
- 70,000 Dodd Frank MTM and client valuation statements issued on a daily basis

The focus of the Deal Review team is to act as a key control in the business, ensuring that the deal agreed with the client is correctly booked and risk-managed within the respective systems, and is also consistent with the legal documentation issued to the counterparty for their agreement.

The deal review is performed for all OTC and securitized trades globally for all desks and regions. The team is required to understand the fundamentals of the product, the underlying instruments and business strategy to continually improve control infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

- Perform deal reviews within the SLA which involves:

- Review Term sheet versus Risk Management System.
- Legal Confirmation versus Risk Management System.
- Ensure accurate reviews and Timely escalation of unissued/unexecuted documents.
- Drive Efficiency in the current process and identifying incorrect booking practice.
- Building and sustaining, strong working relationships with internal Lines of Business, Middle Office, Front Office and internal Counterparts.
- Ensuring all issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner as per Business Standards.
- Participate in various testing related to system enhancement, project implementation and new business initiatives.
- Identify control gaps and suggest improvement ideas for better efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications include:

- To graduate within 1-2 years.
- Fluent in English or advanced.
- Knowledge of MS Office package excellent keyboard skills and a high-level of computer literacy.
- Good communication skills. Team player and willingness to collaborate.
- The individual must be able to be flexible enough in shifting workload in accordance with changing priorities, understanding of the large financial risks that can be incurred through operational errors and control risks.
- Equities Derivatives knowledge is a plus.
