The attorney will report to the Legal Manager of Chevron Argentina in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to**:

- Providing legal and corporate advice on a broad range of legal issues including dispute resolution, risk mitigation, contract review and negotiation to other functions such as commercial, production, asset development, human resources, supply chain management, drilling, finance and public affairs.
- Participating in negotiations and stakeholder engagements with government & business partners to ensure protection and advancement of Chevron’s rights and interests
- Providing legal support and working with corporate business development and major transaction law group on commercial transactions and opportunities considered in Argentina.
- Client training on legal and compliance matters.
- Advising the business clients on legal risks and other issues related to commercial transactions, new legislation including emerging legislative initiatives.
- Corporate governance of local Chevron legal entities, participate in internal investigations and provide legal support to emergency response teams related to incidents.
- Management of local litigation matters including coordination with the Chevron international litigation management team as needed.
- Consulting, in a cost-effective manner, with outside counsel when necessary and appropriate.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations; develop legal strategies and provide advice on the relative legal risks with such strategies.
- Maintaining cross-departmental relationships and communicate effectively with key internal clients on legal progress and outcomes to align departmental efforts and priorities with the overall Chevron Argentina objectives and due dates.
- Domestic travel may occasionally be required, including sporadic international travel.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Argentine Law degree
- Minimum 8 years´ legal experience practicing law with minimum 5 years+ legal experience supporting upstream & midstream activities in Argentina
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills and possess diplomacy, tact and sensitivity. Be client focused and team and results oriented.
- Ability to deliver business-oriented, cost-effective legal representation to clients on a timely basis.
- Strong legal analysis and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, capable of working productively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficient use of all MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other office automation tools as needed

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Postgraduate degree or related course.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
