**The Role**:
We are looking for a **Senior DevOps Software Engineer** to join our Central DevOps team and contribute to shaping the future of our DevOps practice. This is a key role within the technology organization, responsible for delivering the automation, tooling, and infrastructure foundations that support the engineering of high-impact data and software products.

You will collaborate with product teams, architects, and platform engineers to implement strategies that ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and easy to maintain. With a focus on automation, continuous delivery, and operational excellence, you'll help drive best practices across the organization and mentor others in a growing, collaborative environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Define and maintain **CI/CD pipelines** to ensure reliable and consistent software delivery.
- Administer and secure cloud platforms and services (primarily in **Microsoft Azure**).
- Support infrastructure and platform operations, ensuring scalability, recoverability, and performance.
- Lead incident response efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate post-mortem reviews.
- Manage deployments and monitor environments to enable frequent and incremental delivery with mínimal technical debt.
- Prioritize security, high availability, and disaster recovery in all platform designs.
- Monitor and optimize cloud cost and operational risks.
- Keep production and non-production environments aligned via standardized code and configuration.
- Stay informed of emerging DevOps trends and evaluate new tools and methods for adoption.
- Participate in proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and innovation spikes.
- Review code (yours and others) and support the definition of best practices for automation, deployment, and infrastructure management.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a high-performing DevOps culture.

**Requirements**:

- 6+ years in a **DevOps** or **Infrastructure Engineering** role.
- Strong experience with **CI/CD toolchains** (e.g. **Azure DevOps**, Jenkins, Git, Artifactory).
- Skilled in scripting with **Python**, **Bash**, or **PowerShell**.
- Proficient in **IaC** tools and techniques (e.g. **Terraform**, **YAML**, **ARM templates**).
- Experience with **Azure PaaS/IaaS**, networking, and distributed cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of **cloud security**, infrastructure scaling, and system reliability.
- Familiarity with **data platforms** such as **Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)**.
- Experience with **vulnerability scanning and code inspection tools** (e.g. Snyk, SonarQube).
- “Automation-first” mindset — promoting fault-tolerant, self-healing systems.
- Comfortable working independently and with geographically distributed teams.

**Desirable**:

- Experience with **event-driven architectures** and tools like **Azure Event Grid** and **Azure Functions**.
- Knowledge of **container management** (e.g. Azure Container Registry).
- Understanding of **network architecture** — DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, routing, endpoint security.
- Implementation of security and vulnerability checks in CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with **observability and telemetry**, especially in data pipelines.
- Familiarity with **Agile**, **SCRUM**, and hybrid delivery models (e.g. SAFe).
