A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
- 5+ years experience with on premise transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and/or Postgres, as well as MPP databases (Teradata, Netezza, Vertica and Greenplum)
- 5+ years experience delivering business outcomes in Data, Analytics or Machine Learning solutions
- Experience with the DWH/Spark/Hadoop Ecosystem
- Experience with data operations, cloud computing, data strategy, data architecture, and data governance

In this position, you will deal with demanding customers and pressing deadlines - but that just keeps things interesting. You’ll have exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams. You should have proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and be excited to take on new, ambiguous projects that will be industry defining. This position requires a solid technical background, and you should be customer-focused with a passion for the cloud and information technology. You should have deep understanding of Database migrations, Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Data Mesh, and Analytics.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

- Working with customers, AWS sales, professional services, solution architects and product teams to drive data-related engagements.
- Maintaining C-level relationships with customers, stakeholders, advisory consultants, partners, often becoming the “trusted advisor” on data migration related topics
- Providing strategic guidance, collaborative coordination, creative problem solving and administrative authority necessary to achieve mission-critical reforms and advances in data management. This includes, but is not limited to large-scale database systems, data lakes, data warehousing, data analytics, data governance, data security, and data access across the Organization.
- Assisting with the execution of data-related workshops with the largest enterprise customers.
- Identifying technical solutions to data migration obstacles while ensuring appropriate resources including training and support are available as required.
- Research and identify new opportunities for AWS to innovate on behalf of our customers.
- Operate test environment in cloud, run and analyze test results, perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, open, prioritize, and help triage defects, track and report test status and results.
- Thought Leadership - Provide global thought leadership on Analytics solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. This takes the form of contribution to external publications such as the AWS Blog, Whitepapers, and Reference architectures, as well as internal training of Solution Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers.
- Work closely with AI/ML, Developer, Security and Industry Specialist SA teams to create replicable solutions that address common needs and concerns regarding cross-discipline topics.
- Be the voice of the customer to service engineering teams, providing product improvement feedback to AWS developers and accelerating the adoption of new features in customer deployments.
- Masters or MBA in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Math, or applicable field.
- Experience on creating and executing data governance organizational change management strategies as part of a larger transformation
- Experience selling and delivering billable professional services
- Effective managerial track record, including the ability to balance team and team member responsibility; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under his or her supervision; and working ethically and with integrity
