Apprenticeship Support Officer

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Maidenhead who place the learners at the heart of all they do.

As an Apprenticeship Support Officer, your primary responsibility will be to assist apprentices throughout their study program and guide them through every step of their journey. Your role will involve offering advice and support to apprentices on various important topics such as safeguarding, prevent and equality & diversity.

Additional, you will serve as the initial point of contact for employers, providing them with advice and assistance regarding any inquiries they may have. Monitoring apprentices’ attendance and tracing their off-the-job training hours will be crucial aspects of the role.

Main

**Responsibilities**:

- Create and organise mentoring schedules for apprentices, focusing on topics such as Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and Equity & Diversity.
- Collaborate with skills coaches, tutors, employers, and the apprenticeship team to ensure that apprentices complete their training on time.
- Monitoring and support apprentices in meeting their required training hours by assisting ream members and providing guidance.
- Manage apprentices’ behaviour and attendance in accordance with college policies, taking appropriate action with the relevant Director and Head of Departments.
- Trace and report apprentice attendance to employers and managers on a regular basis.
- Act as the primary contact for apprentices, line managers and employers addressing their queries and concerns.
- Contribute to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, maintaining a duty of care for apprentices at all times.
- Support the administration and delivery of functional skills, collaborating closely with tutors to ensure successful completion
- Utilizing EBS (online portfolio system) and other approved systems to accurately and promptly maintain students’ records
- Undertake necessary training for professional development and stay updated as required.

**Requirements**:

- Level 2, or equivalent qualification, in Mathematics and English
- Proven experience of working with Apprentices, employers or in an Apprenticeship based officer.
- Highly organised, methodical and have a flexible approach to working practices4
- The ability to use Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
