**About the role**

We’re looking for a Data Engineer with hands-on Databricks experience to design, build, and scale modern data platforms that power analytics, AI, and operational decision-making. You’ll work on real production pipelines—not toy datasets—using cloud-native architectures and best-in-class tooling. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning messy data into reliable, high-performance data products and wants to be close to both the business and technology.

**What you will do**:

- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake)
- Develop and optimize ETL / ELT workflows for batch and streaming data
- Implement medallion architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold) and data quality frameworks
- Optimize Spark jobs for performance, cost, and reliability
- Implement data governance, lineage, and security controls
- Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot production issues
- Contribute to platform standards, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices

**What you bring**:

- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks in production
- Proficiency in Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala)
- Experience with Delta Lake (ACID tables, schema evolution, time travel)
- Strong SQL skills and data modeling experience
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals (partitioning, joins, file formats, orchestration)

**Nice if you have**:

- Experience with Databricks Workflows, Unity Catalog, and cluster policies
- Streaming experience (Structured Streaming, Kafka, Event Hubs, Kinesis)
- Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF, Dagster, dbt)
- CI/CD for data pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform)
- Familiarity with Lakehouse architectures and modern analytics stacks
- Exposure to ML pipelines or feature stores
- Experience in regulated (financial) or enterprise environments is a bonus
