General Description

Develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques; specializing in the application of mathematical and statistical methods to financial and risk management problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Lead a team of Quantitative Analysts and collaborate with other business areas to develop and maintain recurring quantitative analysis, reports and related services.
2. Apply statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information.
3. Analyze data using analysis software such as R, SAS, Strata, or SPSS.
4. Develop predictive and forecasting models applied to Banking and Finance.
5. Gather, evaluate, and relay both internal and economic data to predict different types of risks by making use of econometric and statistical methods.
6. Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedures, control, or action.
7. Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
8. Prepare studies, reports, and analyses such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, regulatory requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, valuations, and business forecasts.
9. Assist in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements. Maintain databases and ensure that the data are reliable.
10. Provide analytical support and document models as per model validation requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in economy, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field; a Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

At least five years of related experience.

Additional Requirements

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Business Objects.
2. Course work in Calculus, Financial Mathematics, Financial Accounting, Macro and Micro Economics, Programming, Probability, and Statistics.
3. Knowledge of accounting principles, applicable laws, regulations and practices, financial markets, financial analysis, and reporting of financial data.
4. Experience in applied numerical methods such as Internal Rates of Return, Cash Flow forecast, Net Present Value, Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, and CHAID.
5. Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as R, SAS, Strata, or SPSS.
6. SQL programming.
7. Fully Bilingual: English/Spanish.
