Also provides explanatory statements or presentations to bring unusual accounting issues or concerns to attention of Accounting management.
May also review the work of less experienced Accountants.Candidates will be required to pass an English assessment.Schedule & Location:This is an exempt, full-time, office-based position in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico.
Responsibilities Prepares reports and conducts moderately complex analysis of financial data on a timely basisPrepares ledgers and makes journal entriesIs responsible for fixed asset or inventory accountingPrepares trial balance or financial statementsReviews the reports and analyses prepared by more junior accountants for accuracyDevelops solutions to a variety of complex problemsErroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organizationPresents findings and supporting financial information to Accounting managementPrepares appropriate commentary or explanations relating to issues/information of particular interestUses judgment to determine which issues/information warrant closer attentionMay conduct investigations of accounts if neededCommunicates with operating or staff personnel to supply or explain data, secure information, or offer additional supportMay provide advice on accounting-related issues, using proven and documented principles to support recommendationsRepresents organization as a prime contact on projectsInteracts with senior internal and external staff on significant matters often requiring coordinationIdentifies accounting systems that need strengthening and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement to Accounting managementParticipates in special projects to provide moderately complex accounting information and supportPerforms other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (other business degree in combination with strong work experience may be considered)Highly Preferred Education:Professional certification (CPA, CMA)Required Work Experience:2-3+ years experience in general accounting/financial reporting experienceHighly Preferred Work Experience:Corporate tax experienceRequired Skills:Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and practicesProficiency with financial systems and standard software applications (PeopleSoft; Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)Attention to detail and strong organization skillsStrong analytical thinking and problem solving skillsStrong communication skillsAbility to work independently in a deadline-driven environmentThis position is eligible to participate in FM's comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes an incentive plan, generous health and well-being programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work, time off allowances and much more.FM is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce.
