Mercedes-Benz Kitchener-Waterloo is looking for an F&I Specialist
The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Specialist sells new and used car buyers financing and insurance programs, aftermarket products, and warranties. F&I Specialists also work with financial lenders to give fair interest rates to buyers and programs. As with all positions within dealerships, F&I Specialists are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards. F&I Specialists are required to maintain the profitability of their department while controlling expenses and maintaining customer satisfaction. They must understand and keep abreast of the federal, provincial, and local regulations that affect their operations and comply with these regulations. Strong communication skills are essential to deal with customers, employees, and vendors, as they represent the dealership. People working within the automotive retail industry often have to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends to achieve their goals.
Job Duties: Offer vehicle financing and insurance to customers, providing them with a thorough explanation of aftermarket products and extended warranties and a complete explanation of manufacturer and dealership service procedures and policies.Process financing and leasing deals accurately and secure approval through financial sources and the proper federal, state, and corporate channels.Seek new lending institutions and maintain good working relationships to secure competitive interest rates and financing programs.Understand and comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and finance departments.Create and maintain a program with the sales department that ensures all new sales are referred to the F&I department.Train and provide the sales team with information on finance and lease programs and the benefits of the dealership's financing and extended service programs.Work directly with the General Sales Manager to ensure seamless service and a positive customer experience.Listen to and document customer needs and expectations throughout the sales visit.Follow up with customers in a way that works best for them.Prepare for the delivery of new vehicles and ensure all details of the F&I Process are completed.Ensure all documentation/paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.Review and analyze actions regularly to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.Stay up to date on all dealership training programs.Be able to explain technical features, options, and their benefits.Be knowledgeable about new features, specials, and updates.Be a champion for delivering excellent service at all times.Actively maintain the cleanliness of personal and team workspaces.Maintain a high level of professional appearance at all times.Keep up to date with products, accessories, prices, and key features of major competitors.Successful Candidates Possess: Excellent interpersonal skills with an upbeat and engaging attitude.Excellent customer service skills including listening and the ability to impact and influence others.Organized with attention to detail and the ability to document customer needs.Flexible and open to change; able to take on special tasks as needed.Ability to manage customer complaints and solve difficult problems.Results-oriented and accountable.Holds a valid driver's license.Able to operate manual and automatic transmissions.Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.Mercedes-Benz experience is preferred but not required.Education & Experience: Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.College certificate or additional courses would be an asset.Automotive sales experience would be an asset.Provincially licensed as recognized by the MVDA (OMVIC).Adaptable to work evening and weekend shifts as scheduled.Go to our website to see more about our company and the many reasons why you will want to work for us
