THE ROLE: The Infrastructure Engineer is a member of the Global Infrastructure Services team and reports to the Director Infrastructure Services, who is based at the Expereo HQ in Amsterdam.
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the Expereo Network Infrastructure, with a focus on the hardware and software that supports our customer and Expereo core network services.
The Expereo Network consists of routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and other supporting equipment.
The network has different modules from backbone routers in the HUBs using MPLS/BGP/SD-WAN/VPN to customer sites via mobile/IPSEC to office environment with firewalls and switches.
Furthermore, Expereo is expanding its product portfolio with other internet access-based services.
What will you do? Monitor all Expereo Core network elements (within Expereo HUB's).Act on, and solve all infrastructure-related incidents.Analyze incidents and events in the network to identify and resolve problems.Perform configurations and activation for services that are not yet standardized, automated, or considered complex.Perform planned and proactive actions in order to keep the network and services running at the highest possible availability.Be the last technical point of escalation for the Customer Service Engineers, resolving technical issues and incidents for customers.Provide training and coaching to junior team members and Customer Support engineers.Administer the process of technical support accurately and share findings with colleagues.Participate in project teams for network maintenance, build-out, network design, and product development.Who are you? Completed relevant education in ICT, Electronics, Telecommunications.CCNP certified or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience within a NOC or Network Engineering environment.Excellent knowledge of:Ethernet-based products, VLAN tagging, QinQ, etc.Access networking technologies (fiber, DSL, mobile, etc.
).Routers, switches (Cisco, Arista).VPN solutions (public based on IPSEC/SSL and DMVPN).Network management systems/tools.Mobile access technologies; 4/5G.Routing protocols and technologies (BGP, IS-IS, EIGRP).Experience with SD-WAN technologies and vendors (Cisco iWAN, Silverpeak, Nuage, Viptela, etc.)
is beneficial.Experience with Linux (scripting, troubleshooting, and installing) and MS Windows operating systems.Knowledge of at least 1 automation language (i.e.
Ansible, Python, Puppet).Preferably ITIL certified.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in the English language.Ability to work 'blindfolded' and via telephone in order to guide an engineer on location to connect or reconfigure a device or service.Analytical & precise with a keen eye for detail while keeping an overview.Proven hands-on skills in configuring network devices like routers, switches, and virtual appliances.Able and willing to work odd hours and during weekends for incidents, repairs, and new installations.Take part in on-call shifts and rotational shifts.WHY EXPEREO: EEO (Equal Employment Opportunities) Statement: Expereo is an Equal Opportunities employer who aims to support and celebrate every employee that comes through our doors.
