The Role and Team
Our Text Analytics team is growing, focusing on unstructured data processing using NLP techniques and Machine Learning models to gain insights from large volumes of data. We work closely with the Data Science team to develop scalable and resilient pipelines and services.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, implement, and drive the technical roadmap, prioritizing and planning pragmatically. You will partner with dependent teams to ensure uninterrupted service and identify knowledge gaps, tools, and processes to address them.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable and robust software solutions.
- Partner with dependent teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Identify knowledge gaps and work with management to address them.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, impacting teams through tech talks and presentations.
- Represent Medallia Engineering's tech scene through hosting and participating in meetups.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of backend software development experience with Java, focusing on high-speed and performant processing pipelines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Distributed Data Processing Systems leveraging Kafka and/or Kubernetes.
- NLP processing experience.
- Experience with API frameworks and API lifecycle infrastructure and management tools.
- Relational Database experience such as PostgreSQL.
