Position Overview:

Chevron is seeking applications for the role of Category Specialist. This position is crucial in managing the procurement process and ensuring compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Chevron's procurement and supply chain management contracting procedures.
  • Determine the suitable contracting approach, develop scopes of work, and establish compensation frameworks to mitigate business risks effectively.
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers and service providers, managing the bidding process, bid assessment, and contract awarding.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Subject Matter Experts to guarantee adherence to contract stipulations throughout all phases, including planning, execution, and post-award management.
  • Possess a general understanding of facilities projects, construction, and engineering.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably with experience in the Oil & Gas sector, along with 3 to 6 years in Supply Chain or Contract Management.
  • Technical expertise in services related to the engineering and construction of oil facilities.
  • Experience in formulating contractual strategies, executing bidding processes, and negotiating contracts for works and related services.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with software applications for office and contract management.
  • Strong communication and contractor management capabilities.
  • Ability to engage actively as part of a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with various departments including Project Management, Facilities, HSE, Finance, and Administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction firms is advantageous.
  • Background in analyzing scope changes, contract administration, and monitoring certification progress.
  • Knowledge of supplier and contractor benchmarking.
  • Understanding of macroeconomic price analysis.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered for this position. Chevron is unable to sponsor employment visas or consider candidates on time-limited visa status.
