Genetic Research Analyst

Position Overview

We are looking for a Breeding Analyst Scientist to contribute to our mission at Corteva Agriscience. This role is pivotal in advancing agricultural innovation and technology, aimed at enhancing global food security and improving the quality of life for communities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage various research initiatives focused on corn and sunflower utilizing sophisticated analytical techniques. Responsibilities will encompass genomic breeding across multiple breeding frameworks, involving practical analysis, advanced breeding methodologies, training, and field operations.
• Utilize cutting-edge breeding technologies to enhance product development processes.
• Innovate new methodologies to facilitate the creation of novel corn hybrids.
• Play a leadership role within the Research Center, collaborating with fellow scientists to ensure the effectiveness of all research endeavors.
• Develop and implement selection strategies for multi-trait evaluation of significant traits.
• Operate both autonomously and collaboratively within a regional team to achieve product delivery goals.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A PhD in Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in crop physiology, quantitative/statistical genetics, genome-wide prediction techniques, in silico breeding, relevant genotyping technologies, field research methodologies, and data analysis.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience in plant genetics or breeding.
• A passion for addressing scientific challenges through in-depth analysis of phenotypic and genetic data, delivering actionable results in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.
• The ability to work independently with innovative problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and coordinating experiments across various projects, along with the ability to effectively communicate findings across the organization.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English, with demonstrated ability to thrive in a multicultural team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for building robust internal and external relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
