The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer to join our team. As a QA Engineer, you will work closely with our customers and team members to ensure our products and services function in a fully integrated manner, as expected by the customer. You will be responsible for executing automated test cases, creating and maintaining basic automated test cases, and monitoring the team's automated test outputs.
Responsibilities
- Execute automated test cases, understand their purpose and outcomes.
- Create and maintain basic automated test cases and monitor the team's automated test outputs.
- Observe leaders in day-to-day activities and apply learnings.
- Understand Sovos' organizational structure and roles and responsibilities.
- Understand departments and how they impact Product Development (Compliance, PS, Support, Ops).
- Align with Sovos' global QA practices and understand the high-level workflow of products.
- Ensure relevant sprint information is communicated to scrum team members.
- Respect team members and their individual perspectives, earning their trust.
- Keep team members informed regarding activity status and blockers.
- Understand the development lifecycle, including the branching/merging techniques utilized by the team.
- Have knowledge of testing concepts including Black Box Testing, Unit Tests, Integration Tests, Automated Tests, and Regression Tests.
- Follow processes and responsibilities for delivering code to production.
- Create test scenarios and execute test suites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics, graduation from a technical school, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to perform in a team environment.
- Understanding of tools critical to software development.
- Efficient use of SDLC tools.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases.
- Open-minded and adaptable to work within QA best practices and procedures.
- Proactive attitude.
