About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Better Collective. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance and leadership to the accounting team, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
  2. Month-End Close: Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review journal entries, account analyses, and financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  4. Team Management: Supervise and support the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  6. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial trends and variances, providing forecasts and recommendations for financial performance improvements.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze data for management reporting, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting (Masters is a plus)
  2. Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and/or MBA is highly desirable
  3. Experience: 3-5 years public accounting experience
  4. Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
  5. Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and staff at all levels.
