Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant at Sagan, you will be integral to our finance department, executing essential accounting functions and enhancing our financial integrity and compliance. Your proficiency will ensure the precision and effectiveness of our financial operations, keeping us competitive in a rapidly evolving global marketplace.
Core Responsibilities:
- Daily Accounting Management: Oversee routine accounting activities, including managing accounts payable and receivable, recording general ledger transactions, and performing bank reconciliations with a focus on accuracy.
- Preparation of Financial Statements: Generate timely and precise financial statements for monthly and annual closures, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Financial Records Maintenance: Ensure that financial records are organized and current to facilitate efficient audits and clear reporting.
- Collaborative Financial Analysis: Partner with various departments to resolve financial inconsistencies, offering insights and suggestions to strengthen financial controls and procedures.
- Support for Audits: Aid in both internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring effective communication between auditors and the organization.
- Enhancement of Accounting Processes: Regularly assess and refine accounting practices and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy, leveraging advanced technology and industry standards.
- In-Depth Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Special Projects and Financial Modeling: Engage in special initiatives as required and create financial models that deliver valuable insights into our business operations.
- Budgeting and Cash Flow Management: Develop and oversee financial forecasts and budgets to ensure effective financial planning and resource management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience in financial reporting and record management.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, proficient in virtual meeting platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in finance-related roles.
- At least two years of experience with US-based small to medium enterprises.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in supervising a small finance team (2-3 members).
