We are seeking a skilled Contract Manager to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Cordoba, Spain. As a Contract Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects within contract portfolios/subcontracts, including payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, and provisions.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Management Support: Provide contract management support and contract reviews for both the sales and marketing teams and the project management office.
- Contract Leadership: Lead contract management activities for your assigned portfolio or project, ensuring compliance with procedures and providing guidance to cross-functional project teams.
- Contract Strategy Development: Develop contract management strategy considering policies, customer requirements, consortium partner interfaces, and overall execution strategy while identifying contract baselines and assessing areas of opportunity and risk.
- Commercial Execution: Oversee the timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects within contract portfolios/subcontracts, including payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, and provisions.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with the marketing and sales team during the risk assessment process for new proposals, following the defined process and tools defined to ensure timely internal approvals.
- Contract Compliance: Verify that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations and assess the contract's success, identifying lessons learned for future contracting.
- Communication and Documentation: Document and communicate deficiencies, changes, and claims, while establishing and enforcing standard methodologies.
- Negotiation and Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with HE Legal on negotiation strategies, dispute resolution, and settlement agreements drafting, highlighting potential opportunity and risk and ensuring the settlement terms protect our interests.
- Risk Mitigation and Opportunity Planning: Developing and implementing risk mitigation and opportunity plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Compliance and Insurance: Ensure compliance with bonds and insurance provisions in contracts and coordinate with Finance and Insurance Risk Management for occurrences that may be covered by customer/third-party or HE-provided insurance.
- Export Control and Compliance: Support Insurance Risk Management in producing damage reports and ensure accurate handling of export control matters, considering restrictions, destination laws, countries, customers, and products.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience of contract management within the fields of power generation, transformers, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission or similar industrial plant.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law is preferred, but Engineering, Business Administration or Economics could be suitable.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and negotiate in both Spanish and English. Additional languages are a plus.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills and ability to interface and negotiate with stakeholders in all matters related to contracts and projects including those related to the review and process of changes.
- International Experience: Working knowledge/hands-on experience on product delivery contracts at an international level.
