**Job Summary:**

Amentum is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead our projects and teams. As an Engineering Services Manager, you will be responsible for technical/operational leadership of a project/mission within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer.

Purpose and Scope:

The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for defining, generating, and reviewing project requirements documentation. This includes performing technical studies to refine project requirements, monitoring project progress to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained, and providing coordination between resource managers/supervisors to ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the discipline's engineering with that of other disciplines.
  • Maintains records, files, and other documents pertaining to the discipline.
  • Assists the Account Manager and/or Project Manager in identifying engineering documents that must comply with regulatory/licensing requirements.
  • Assigns preparers and checkers for discipline specifications and coordinates review of external specifications.
  • Maintains technical coordination with the PM to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements, and sound engineering practices.
  • DIRECTS the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the discipline.
  • Schedules, directs, and documents discipline engineering meetings between project management, customer, vendors, and other engineering groups.
  • Advises the Project Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays, and adverse problems.
  • Works closely with Project Manager and Director of Consulting on employees' evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group.
  • Fully versed in the work sequence, general content, and methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within engineer's discipline.
  • Fully versed in the process of preparing and checking of calculations as well as the approval, revision, retention, and storage of calculations within a specific discipline.
  • Fully versed in interpreting codes and standards as it relates to a specific discipline.
  • Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of assigned engineering tasks.
  • Familiar with business development concepts and provides support to proposals.
  • Able to lead the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • 12+ years of professional experience.
  • Or Master's Degree with 8+ years of professional experience.
  • 5 years of managerial experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Nuclear High Hazard Operations and Nuclear Regulatory Compliance.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
