About the Medical Director Role
CarePlus Health Plans is a leading provider of Medicare Advantage health plans in Florida, and we are seeking a highly qualified Medical Director to join our team.
The Medical Director will play a critical role in ensuring that our members receive high-quality healthcare services. This includes reviewing medical claims, making determinations on service authorizations, and working with healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with national guidelines and CMS requirements.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, including those with complex medical conditions. You will also be part of a collaborative team environment, working closely with other departments and Humana colleagues to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review medical claims and make determinations on service authorizations
- Work with healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with national guidelines and CMS requirements
- Collaborate with other departments and Humana colleagues to achieve our goals
- Provide medical interpretation and determination on services provided by other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Valid Florida Medical license
- 5+ years of direct clinical patient care experience post residency or fellowship
- Current and ongoing Board Certification in an approved ABMS Medical Specialty
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
