About the Opportunity
We are excited to offer two IHealth Division Lead – Surgical Subspecialties positions as part of our ongoing commitment to improving patient care and safety within Island Health. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of standardized clinical order sets within our Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Key Responsibilities
- Work with island-wide specialty groups to develop and implement standardized documentation practices.
- Develop and maintain condition-specific documentation and specialty-specific requirements.
- Lead collaborative efforts with informatics, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure successful development and adoption of clinical order sets.
- Support overall IHealth change management by engaging with specialty colleagues to support change initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and professional legislative, accreditation, or practice requirements.
- Participate in testing events to validate the design of the EHR against clinical workflow requirements and best practice standards.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the EHR and related systems through participation in lessons learned, provider experience feedback, and metrics analysis.
Requirements
- Clinically active, licensed to practice medicine in the Province of BC.
- Experience in working in an automated clinical environment (within an Electronic Health Record or Electronic Medical Record).
- Experience in leading change, particularly in complex, multisite or regional change initiatives.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support the Quality Council and Division/Department Head.
- Proficient in technology and software applications.
