About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Storage Professional to join our team at Kyndryl. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for delivering infrastructure and performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Expertise: Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope.
- Workstream Management: Drive a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies.
- Collaboration: Work with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes.
- Solution Development: Execute creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity.
- Implications Analysis: Strongly consider upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advise on mitigation actions.
- Culture Contribution: Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
- Experience and Education: 3-6 years of experience in Mainframe Storage Administration and BE Degree.
- Skills and Knowledge: Initialize/add new DASD volumes and add new tape volumes. Perform space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets.
- Storage Management: Manage and define SMS rules and ACS routines along with reorganization of storage dataset (HSM CDS & Catalog file).
- Product Knowledge: Knowledge of various storage products like Catalog Recovery Plus, Vantage, STOPX37, DSS, JCLs, VSAM, HSM, CA1, CSM, DS8K, VTS, and GDPS replication.
- Problem Resolution: Problem determination and resolution within expected time frame. Root Cause Analysis preparation and meeting Service level agreement for submission.
- Disaster Recovery: Disaster recovery planning and performing the recovery test (Tape recovery/DASD Replication/Tape Replication) and managing the Copy services/GDPS.
- Procedure Development: Develop, document, and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning, and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required.
- Automation and Tooling: Developing automation, tooling, reports, and utilities to assist in mainframe access administration.
- Programming Skills: Skilled in programming in REXX or other languages strongly desired.
