The HR Business Partner & Country HR Lead role involves developing and implementing people strategy through effective execution of HR processes, ensuring workplace relations are maintained, and providing HR support for defined teams or locations. Accountability lies in contributing HR value-add to the business in partnership with Functions and Shared Services. The leadership and collaboration of the HR community across the country are also key responsibilities, ensuring Country fiduciary people requirements are met and complied with. Driving communication, engagement, and collaboration across the organization is essential.

This position reports to: Local/Hub Division Manager

Your responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the overall Business and People Strategy by understanding its components and implementation plans.
  2. Develop and deliver approaches to drive area-specific results.
  3. Execute HR priorities that add value to the business while maintaining organizational sustainability.
  4. Provide leadership and guidance to organize, staff, skill, and direct the area of responsibility effectively.
  5. Cultivate talent within the team to build high-performing groups.
  6. Represent HR in the business, fostering relationships with leaders and employees alike.
  7. Act as an expert partner and coach.
  8. Promote total HR offerings to the business by leveraging Functional Expertise.
  9. Support business operations and HR Process execution including Culture/Employee Engagement, Talent Acquisition, People Reviews, Succession Planning, Capability & Workforce Planning, Career Pathing, Leadership Competency Assessments / Development, Organization Design (including HCM), Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Values in Action, Learning & Development, People Performance, Executive Compensation, Employee Compensation, Benefits, Global Mobility, Mergers & Acquisitions, Labor Relations, People Analytics, Onboarding, and Policy/Procedure Administration.
  10. Involvement in the entire employee life cycle.
  11. Ensure change management initiatives succeed across the area of responsibility.
  12. Drive behavioral change and continuous improvement.
  13. Maintain ABB Safety and Integrity standards awareness and compliance among all employees.
  14. Evaluate and ensure legislative, HR policy, and other compliance standards adherence across all areas of responsibility.
  15. Serve as a personal model for expected behaviors.
  16. Ensure all HR-related fiduciary responsibilities are fulfilled in the Country, including reporting, legal structure, internal and external auditing, etc.
  17. Identify and mitigate internal risks by ensuring full compliance with applicable ABB regulations and laws, including HSE and integrity.
  18. Share best practices across businesses from the Country level.

Your background:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, RRLL, RRHH, Administration, Law, or related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of compensation and salary analysis.
  3. Salary budget management expertise.
  4. Deep understanding of labor relations and legislation.
  5. 5+ years of experience as an HR manager, HRBP, or similar roles.
  6. Previous leadership experience is highly valued.
  7. Availability to travel is a must.
  8. Advanced English language skills are required.
