Position Summary
We seek a dynamic and experienced Upper School Spanish Teacher to join our faculty as a long-term substitute from October 30 to November 18, 2023. As a member of our Global Language Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students, helping them develop language proficiency, cultural competence, and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach four Upper School Spanish sections, adapting your instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and mutual respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations that align with our school's curriculum and standards.
- Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and promote language acquisition.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and cooperation.
- Stay current with best practices in language instruction, pedagogy, and educational technology, applying your expertise to improve student outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
- Three or more years of teaching experience, preferably in an upper school setting.
- Proven track record of effective language instruction, using innovative approaches to engage students and promote language acquisition.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, adapt to changing circumstances, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Clearances and Requirements
Please note that a Tuberculosis (TB) assessment and Livescan background check are required for this position.
