Job Overview:
The role of Manufacturing Manager necessitates a comprehensive grasp of the entire process of mechanical orders, both new and repaired, including the DCI process, estimation, and culminating in delivery and acceptance. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for maintaining control over timelines and assessing the need for outsourcing or overtime to ensure timely delivery. This position oversees the availability of manufactured components, procured materials, and external operations to synchronize with Flowserve's production labor. Reporting directly to the QRC General Manager, this role includes management of direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will encompass various facets:
- Supplier Management:
o Spearhead the identification and development of new suppliers within the region (related to packaging activities)
o Establish necessary logistics to integrate manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain operations.
- Manufacturing Oversight:
o Drive the transformation of the Flowserve Mendoza facility to design, develop, and optimize resources for production of Original Equipment (OE) machinery.
o Lead the execution of capital expenditure projects.
o Oversee human resources operations changes (including recruitment, training, and process definition).
o Monitor key performance indicators (productivity, efficiency, scrap rates, etc.).
Systems Integration:
o Engage in the implementation of ERP systems with all necessary actions in the operational domain.
- Expansion of Aftermarket Services:
o Coordinate capital expenditure and implementation plans (including personnel, training, workforce, equipment, and logistics).
o Oversee the comprehensive implementation of processes (Safety, Quality).
Leadership and Team Management:
o Supervise a team comprising 4 direct reports and 42 indirect reports.
Additionally, perform any other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be willing to work fully at the Mendoza facilities.
- Proficiency in English is essential.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required. A Master's Degree in Business Administration is advantageous.
8-10 years of experience in a relevant sector (such as metalworking, pumps, etc.) is necessary.
- A minimum of 5 years of full Profit and Loss responsibility is required, encompassing standard cost systems, manufacturing operations, supply chain/purchasing, quality assurance, inside sales, and product development.
- Experience with international markets, managing operations in remote locations, and navigating export controls is essential.
- Familiarity with financial and operational reporting, metrics, and performance management systems is required.
- Strong leadership capabilities are crucial, particularly the ability to influence across an organization and cultivate high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies is mandatory for this position.
