We are currently seeking a Claims Adjuster to join our Latin America Operations team. This role will be primarily office-based and may require both international and domestic travel as per business requirements.
A relocation package is available for candidates needing to move within Mexico.
Responsibilities
The Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, resolving, and settling claims within their designated authority, ensuring equitable outcomes that satisfy both the client and FM Global in line with policy terms. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the insured's management to provide assistance in loss mitigation, salvage operations, and claims preparation. The Adjuster is authorized to engage independent consultants, engineers, or salvage experts as necessary.
- Negotiating with the insured to address discrepancies regarding loss extent and coverage, aiming for prompt and fair settlements. Once a settlement is reached, the Adjuster initiates the payment process for review and approval.
- Adhering to Fair Claims Handling protocols during investigations and payments, as outlined in state manuals and FM Global operating standards.
- Keeping the insured and FM Global claims offices informed about the progress of claims through timely communication.
- Ensuring compliance with international regulations and requirements in collaboration with our WorldReach Partners.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
Candidates should possess proven experience in the insurance sector, particularly in managing complex commercial property claims. Experience as a field adjuster is advantageous.
Schedule: This position requires a combination of office work and field assignments. Candidates must be prepared to travel, sometimes on short notice, to effectively manage assigned claims.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, including negotiation and consultation skills.
- Organizational skills and the capacity to make quick, sound decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
