Job Title: Finance Clerk

Job Summary:

The Finance Clerk will provide financial services to the Country Office, ensuring high-quality, accuracy, and consistency of work. The successful candidate will promote a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support operational and financial management strategies, ensuring full compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations.
  • Provide effective support to administration and functioning of the optimal cost-recovery system.
  • Offer accounting and administrative support, including processing of cost-recovery bills, extraction of data, and maintenance of the filing system.
  • Ensure proper CO cash management, following up on schedule payments and income, and making pertinent adjustments to project contributions schedule.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO, participating in the organization of training for office staff and synthesizing lessons learned and best practices in programme finance.

Requirements:

  • Secondary Education, with specialized certification in Accounting and Finance.
  • A university degree in Finance or Accounting is desirable.
  • Minimum 4 years (with Secondary education) or 1 year (with Bachelor ́s degree) of relevant accounting and financial experience at national level is required.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, including MS Word, Excel, and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
  • Knowledge of IPSAS and/or IFRS desirable.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
