About the RoleAs a Cloud Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing cloud migration strategies, leveraging your expertise in VMware technologies and cloud migration.
- Leading end-to-end migration projects from VMware environments to AWS Cloud, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.
- Performing thorough assessments of existing VMware setups, identifying migration risks, dependencies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Developing migration plans, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Executing migrations according to defined methodologies, leveraging automation tools and best practices to streamline the process.
- Collaborating closely with infrastructure, operations, and security teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Monitoring migration progress, promptly addressing any issues or roadblocks that may arise during the migration process.
- Conducting post-migration assessments to validate the performance, stability, and cost-effectiveness of migrated workloads.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 8-10 years of IT infrastructure management experience, focusing on VMware technologies and cloud migration.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing VMware to AWS Cloud migration strategies, with hands-on experience executing complex migration projects.
- In-depth knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
- Experience working with data center-based VMware setups, including server consolidation, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) are highly desirable.
