Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our Payments Engineering team at Betsson Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable server-side applications using the.NET framework and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable server-side applications using the.NET framework and related technologies.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • API Development: Develop and implement efficient and secure RESTful APIs and microservices to support client applications and integrations.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code following software development best practices and coding standards.
  • Testing and Debugging: Perform thorough testing and debugging of backend applications to ensure high quality and reliability.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize application performance and scalability through code optimizations, caching strategies, and database optimizations.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in SQL databases both in writing queries and optimizing performance.
  • Software Development Best Practices: Understanding of software development best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to architectural guidelines, and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in backend development and actively contribute to improving development processes and efficiency.
Desirable Skills
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Backend Development: Strong background in backend development, with experience in languages such as C#, Python, Go, Java, or similar.
  • NoSQL and SQL Databases: Knowledge of NoSQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server databases.
  • Distributed Systems: Experience in design and implementation of distributed systems that comprise of multiple domain-oriented services.
  • Version Control Systems: Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
