**Overview of the Role**
As a Senior Embedded Systems Developer at Distillery, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering firmware deployed to a wide array of devices including our industry-leading smart lighting control sensors, gateways, and edge computing devices.
The sensor network is supported by our gateway and edge computing device facilitating driving our sensor network data to the cloud and satisfying low latency real-time data processing needs of our customers respectively.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement high-quality software products
- Implement automated unit and integration testing for all software code written
- Collaborate with the team to ensure implementation/continuous improvement of formal processes to support software development activities
- Support the team for technical escalations and provide guidance when needed
- Review and optimize peer code as part of everyday workflow
- Maintain engineering's best practices for the development of high-quality products
- Improve the team's productivity, job enjoyment, and code quality through creative ideas and solutions
- Participate in rotational on-call 24X7 Tier-3 production support to support the production issues that need dev team's inputs
Key Requirements:
- Experience with modern developer testing practices and CI/CD
- Understanding of clean code principles and design patterns
- Practical knowledge of terraform and AWS services
- Proficiency in high volume data integration and deployment/troubleshooting in AWS
- Knowledge of NoSQL DB design and performance tuning
- Experience with Kafka topics design and capacity planning
- Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful standards
