Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scrum Master to join our Agile team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring the Scrum framework is followed.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Coaching team members in self-management and cross-functionality, helping them to optimize flexibility, creativity, and productivity.
  2. Helping the Agile Delivery Team focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the Definition of Done, adopting a growth mindset and iterative approach.
  3. Causing the removal of impediments to the Agile Delivery Team's progress, providing guidance, coaching, support, and facilitation.
  4. Ensuring all Scrum and Agile events take place, are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox, facilitating stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed.
  5. Driving a Continuous Improvement culture in the team through tools like Retrospectives, Team Spirit Metric, Agile KPIs, Health and Maturity Assessment, and Team enablement.
  6. Helping those outside the Agile Delivery Team understand which of their interactions with the team are helpful and which aren't, changing these interactions to maximize the value created by the Agile Delivery Team.
  7. Serving the Product Owner by helping find techniques for effective Product Backlog management, focusing the backlog on the next major release, and regularly refining the backlog.
  8. Helping establish empirical product planning for a complex environment, where work is divided into smaller working bits, planning is based on the evaluation of the result of these bits, and improvement and direction are guided by experiments, examples, and experience.
  9. Serving the organization by leading, training, and coaching the organization in its Agile adoption, planning and advising Agile implementations within the organization, and helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work.
  10. Removing barriers between stakeholders and the Agile Delivery Team, creating an environment that is creative, safe, productive, and supportive, and enabling multi-directional collaboration.
  11. Leading and facilitating daily Scrum ceremonies, identifying areas of improvement, and working as the administrator of the Scrum board.
  12. Regularly analyzing burndown charts and other tools to track progress, identifying and implementing metrics that drive quality, delivery, and change for an initiative.
  13. Assessing the Agile maturity of the team and organization, coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, and assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and sharing of information.

Key Qualifications and Experiences

  1. Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical discipline with a development background.
  2. 7+ years' total experience in the Software Industry.
  3. 3 years of Scrum Master experience, 5 years of experience on Agile Delivery Teams, and 2 years of project management experience (preferred).
  4. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification with expertise in guiding team and enterprise-level transitions to Scrum, XP, and Continuous Delivery principles and practices.
  5. Experience with Craft.io or Azure DevOps (ADO) for product management, including the ability to set up new projects, create dashboards, and report KPIs.
  6. Excellent understanding of Agile metrics, including how to build a burn-down, track velocity/cycle time, backlog tracking, and task definition.
  7. Experience and ability to develop high-performing teams by promoting and supporting Agile Ways of Working and Agile mindset, values, principles, and practices.
  8. Demonstrated experience in leading Agile teams and related large groups with confidence, such as through Quarterly (PI) Planning and other Agile/Scrum Events.
  9. Expertise in facilitating and driving continuous improvement changes, especially as it relates to software development, and a sense of urgency and ownership to drive issues to completion.
  10. Exceptional facilitation skills, including leading and demonstrating value-add principles with transparency.
  11. Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration at all levels.
