Job Summary

The Financial and Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that accounts, payroll, tax, and financial records meet established standards and criteria. This includes analyzing, monitoring, and controlling financial documents, recording and verifying transactions, as well as producing payroll.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting: Perform monthly reconciliations, ledger accounts analysis and financial reporting packages for corporate and international entities ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank reconciliation, schedules and entries for the close process at the Corporate level.
  3. Consolidation and Elimination: Responsible for the implementation of consolidation and eliminating process.
  4. Cash Management: Participate in the cash management function.
  5. International Accounting: Establish best practice for day-to-day international accounting activities.
  6. Annual Audit: Coordinate and participate in the preparation of annual audit files.
  7. Budget and Forecast: Collaborate with business and FP&A in the annual budget and forecast process.
  8. Tax Compliance: Review and analyze VAT /GST data and returns.
  9. Tax Returns: Assist in the preparation of tax returns for international subsidiaries.
  10. Government Tax Audit: Assist with various international government tax audit.
  11. Indirect Tax: Assist with indirect tax related to question and matters.
  12. Intercompany Transactions: Responsible for oversight of all intercompany transactions including compliance with Intercompany Transfer Pricing agreements, as well as the completeness and accuracy of the Intercompany accounts.
  13. Foreign Currency: Responsible for oversight of all foreign currency matters, including foreign currency risk management.
  14. Payroll Processing: Responsible to overseeing the payroll processing and troubleshooting payroll issues in collaboration with the Payroll Manager and Payroll service providers to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is considered as an asset;
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting or similar role, experience with a large multinational company in a growth environment a plus;
  • Local and/or International Payroll: Local and/or International payroll cycle knowledge is considered as an asset;
  • Skills: Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and knowledge of international accounting requirements; strong knowledge of tax accounting and tax compliance rules, experience with Infor FSM or other large ERP systems a plus, with experience in consolidation; knowledge of computer applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail; communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; ability to work both independently and in a team environment; ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment; ability to multi-task, stay organized, and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment; energetic, detail-oriented, and positive attitude; solid communication skills (oral and written) in English.
