The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Production Operations for the Pluto TV is part of the team
that builds and runs our production infrastructure (and more), ensuring reliable, highly available
and performant systems, delivering content to our many viewers.

**Requirements**:
We believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience in order to be
successful in the role:

- Effective, clear communicator, able to articulate across all levels of the organization
- Equally comfortable working at the command line in shell or in a GUI
- Strong desire and focus to write infrastructure as code, automating everything possible

using Terraform, Python, and more
- 3+ years of experience as part of a hands-on production facing ops/devops/SRE team

running on AWS infrastructure at significant scale using some combination of ECS, EKS,
EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, Cloudwatch
- 3+ years of experience with a visibility/observability platform like Datadog, SignalFX,

Prometheus, or similar
- 2+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform

(preferred), Cloudformation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- 3+ years of DevOps/InfraOps experience for large scale systems.
- Experience with DNS, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP and other common network protocols
- Nice to have:

- Production experience with Kubernetes and MongoDB
- Production experience with Istio
- Golang
- OpenTelemetry

**Responsibilities**:
This is a critical role with a wide range of responsibilities, as part of a team that needs to:

- Plan and design, build, measure, monitor and improve our production infrastructure and

operational processes
- Collaborate with ProdOps peers and partner with DevOps and Observability teams to

build and maintain all cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, efficiency, scalability
and costs
- Engage and embed with development, engineering, and STE (Software Test

Engineering) teams to prepare and support all production releases and upgrades
- Work with Engineering and Operations teams to resolve any active incidents as well as

proactively mitigate future platform issues
- Automate as much as possible using existing and new code
- Leverage our observability platforms to detect variance/outliers in our key systems and

work with engineering teams and the NOC team to proactively avoid incidents and
reduce MTBF and MTTR
- Define SLIs and SLOs with development and product teams
- Help review and improve existing processes and operational runbooks for the NOC team

with a focus on increasing the reliability of our platform
- Assist in on-call schedules and off-hours triage rotation where needed
