**The Work You'll Do**:
Are you passionate about database architecture and ensuring the stability of mission-critical systems? Sovos is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of Oracle database environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, ensure reliability, and support cutting-edge business systems. - More specifically, you will:_
- Install, configure, and support Oracle databases for Business Systems environments.
- Monitor database capacity, estimate sizing and growth requirements, and perform database performance tuning.
- Maintain backup and recovery procedures and proactively resolve database-related issues.
- Research and implement database patches and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for monitoring and performance metrics.
- Provide 24/7 support and ensure standard operating procedures promote stable database environments.

**What We Need From You**
- A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven Oracle database administration experience.
- Expertise in managing large, mission-critical databases.
- Proficiency with RMAN, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and UNIX shell scripting.
- Strong performance tuning capabilities in large database environments.
- Familiarity with MS-SQL Server, including transaction log management (preferred).
- Oracle OCP Certification (a plus).
